GLAM

The Gotham League of Archaeology Majors

Volunteering at TAG!

Exciting news: GLAM members have the opportunity to volunteer at TAG!  Held at Brown this year from Friday, April 30th to Sunday, May 2nd, TAG is an annual conference devoted to theoretical archaeology with this year’s theme being ‘Location of Theory’.   Volunteers would have to work at least eight hours, but it means we’d get to attend the conference for free and get TAG t-shirts!  Check out the TAG website at http://proteus.brown.edu/tag2010/Home and email GLAM (cuglam@gmail.com) if you’re interested.

Hope to see you there!

Hana Koriech

Hana Koriech, a visiting archaeologist from the UK who is currently organizing a program to unite archaeology societies from New York schools for networking and community action, will attend our Holiday Party on Tuesday. Hana graduated from the Institute of Archaeology and is currently based in New York. Her experience includes working in Izmit’s Nicomedia Project and as part of Aktuel Archaeology journal’s team, volunteering in museums and institutes in the UK, and promoting participatory archaeology and its role in both community development and nation-building.

Hana will speak about her project, which we hope GLAM will be a part of in the future.
